CSIR NET Exam is mandatory for candidates aspiring to
teach at the College Level in India. CSIR
is held two times in a year. The exam is conducted in June and
December every year by National Educational Testing Bureau of
University Grants Commission. The exam is held in different
subjects like Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Earth Atmospheric
Ocean and Mathematics etc.
Candidates need to fill an application form to appear for the exam. The information about the availability of application forms can be checked on the official UGC CSIR NET website. To be eligible for CSIR UGC NET exam, candidate should have secured atleast 55% marks in M.Sc or other equivalent examination. The exam notification is also published in Employment News. When filling up the application form, candidates should read the instructions properly and the list of the documents to be attached along with the application form. The subject code and the centre code should be properly filled to avoid any problem later on. Students can get detail information regarding the process of applying for UGC NET 2011 in the published notification.
The exam schedule for June and December is generally announced few months advance. The schedule for exam to be held in June is usually announced in March and for the December exam in September. CSIR UGC NET exam will have single paper based test from June 2011 onwards. The paper will have multiple choice questions. The candidates will have three hours to complete the paper. For wrong answers, one-fourth of the allotted marks to a question will be deducted. There will be three parts in the paper.
UGC CSIR results are declared generally 3-4 months after the exam. CSIR NET results for exam held in June 2011 will be declared in the month of October. The results of CSIR exam conducted in December are declared in April. Students can access the results on the official UGC website.

as its single paper now, csir results are expected in the month of jan. 3 or 4th week of jan to be precise considering last yrs announcement of results.but its already 4th week now but no news yet. like gate i would like to csir people announcing date of results also with notification.
